Obituary: Mrs. Nell Bowden
Mrs. Nell Elizabeth Bowden of Route 1 Wingo, Ky., widow of Roy V. Bowden, died Thursday afternoon around 2:45 at Fulton Hospital following an extended illness. She was 88.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. at Hornbeak Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Barber and Hershel Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 P.M. this afternoon.
Mrs. Bowden was born in Fulton County April 20, 1892, daughter of the late W. R. Collins and Mrs. Allie Smith Collins. She was a member of the Sandy Branch Primitive Baptist Church.
Her husband died in 1958.
Mrs. Bowden leaves a daughter, Mrs. Marie Moon of Wingo; four sons, Roy V. Bowden, Jr. of Lavonia, Mich., Clarence Bowden of Madisonville, Billy Bowden of Garden City, Mich., and Wendell Bowden of Fulton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Water Valley, Ky. and Mrs. Hazel Wall of Wingo; a brother, Roy Collins of Water Valley, 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
A daughter, Mrs, Carmel Ingrum; a son, Jerry Bowden, and seven sisters and brothers, also preceded her in death.
