Mrs. Clara Byrne, sister of C. N. Sturdevant, died suddenly last Saturday morning after a short illness. Mrs. Byrne was sixty-three years old and had been a sufferer from stomach trouble for a long time. Funeral services were conducted from her late residence in the east part of the city Sunday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Larned cemetery.
Mrs. Byrne has been a resident of this city for many years. Her husband mysteriously disappeared in 1870, and is supposed to have been murdered by the notorious Bender gang. She leaves two children living, Larry and Mable, both of whom are married and live in Fairhaven, Washington.
