Buster Sublett served in the U. S. Army, 53rd Signal Corps during World War II. He was involved in the North Africa campaigns and also the invasion of Italy, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following the war, the men from this unit met annually to renew their service to the country and their friendship.
Buster's father was Philip W. Sublett; his mother was Marguerite '"Maggie" Smith, a daughter of Patrick Smith.
Buster and Jean were married 22 Oct 1975 and are buried in adjacent graves in the Smith section of the Catholic Cemetery.
