David Carlson,(82) b. Sep. 7, 1898 in Big Stone County, Minnesota was the youngest of four children ( Carl J. Carlson, Helma, Joseph, David) born to son of Ola Carlson and Elna Hankanson.. He lived in Big Stone County, MN for 14 years with his parents.

In 1912 at the age of 14, he moved to Ferndale, WA, a Swedish logging community. David first was a farmer near Ferndale, WA, but then changed to be a Laborer for the city of Ferndale, WA.
He met and married Deeola Esther Clark, dau of Daniel Webster Clark and Catherine Clark. . Esther was born in Butler, Johnson County, Tennessee . She grew up on the San Juan islands off the coast of the state of Washington. Her father was the 1st Assistant Lighthouse Keeper.

In Ferndale David and Esther raised their 9 children: 6 sons and 3 daughters:

3. Hubert Allan Carlson b. May 28, 1928 Ferndale, WA d. Oct. 9, 1978 Big Lake, Sherburne Co. MN m. 953, Greenville, SC to Irene Jacqueline Hunter b. Nov. 29, 1931 Minnespolis, MN d. Oct. 13, 1992 dau. of James Durr Hunter and June Delores Gustafson. Both were Korean War Veterans . 2 children Ellen and Jacque..
