Son of C.C. & Eliza Gilstrap Adcox; husband of Bertie Mae Howe Adcox.

His obituary stated he passed away at a local hospital after a two weeks' illness. He was a native of Pickens County, where he had been employed as an auto mechanic, and had recently moved to Greenville. William was a member of Golden Creek Baptist Church in Liberty.

Survived by his wife; a son, William Crayton Adcox, Jr., age 3; six sisters, Mrs. Samuel Phillips of Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Mason Clardy of Liberty, Mrs. James Clardy of Norris, Mrs. Richard Green of Liberty, Mrs. Mae Holden of Norris, and Mrs. James Johnston of Winfield, AL; and a brother, Sherman Adcox of Liberty.

Funeral services: Tuesday, November 19, 1929, First Baptist Church, Liberty, conducted by Rev. George Pennell.

Burial: Liberty Cemetery

Pallbearers: Clayton Howe, Felix Howe, Raymond Howe, Roy Benjamin, Bert Clardy, and Samuel Phillips.
