Wife of Elmer Joseph Forbes, 19 December 1928, Ogden, Weber, Utah

LAYTON - Ila Ada Flint Forbes, age 98, our loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father Friday, June 24, 2005.

Ila was born December 19, 1906 in West Point, Utah, a daughter of John Frederick and Eliza Webster Flint. She lived 22 years in West Point and 76 years in Layton, Utah.

She married Elmer J. Forbes, December 19, 1928 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in May of 1965. Elmer preceded her in death May 31, 1981.

She was a member of the Layton 1st LDS Ward, currently the Kimball Ward. She served as a Primary Teacher, a Sunday School Teacher, and a Relief Society Visiting Teacher.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base for one year, the Navy Supply Depot for two years and retired from the Davis County School Lunch Program after 18 years. Her interests were genealogy, crocheting, and reading. She was a big Utah Jazz fan with her Jazz buddy Peggy. She attended her last game at age 98. She was also a wonderful cook. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving, concerned Grandma who always wanted the best for her children and family.

Surviving are four daughters; Blanche (Cecil) Kirk of Layton, Erma Adams of Farr West, Joyce (Don) Gunderson of Clearfield, JoAnn (Stan) Pollett of Layton, one daughter-in-law Shorty Oralee Forbes, 19 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 53 years, Elmer, a son, Junior Forbes, a grandson, Rick Adams, and three great-grandchildren, Shailee Adams, Kirstee Adams, and Cody McColloch; four brothers and six sisters, Manita Suiter, Mae King, Sylvie Adams, Lillie Stoddard, Lavon Flint, Myrtle Kirkman, John Flint, Wilford Flint, Clifford Flint, and Golden Flint.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Lindquists Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to our sister JoAnn and her daughters Rhonda, Karey, Julie, Amey and Rebecca for all the dedication and care they gave our sweet Mother.
