Suzanne Joy Baum-Auxier, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 14, 2011 after a noble battle with cancer.
Suzanne, the daughter of Marvin and Leona Baum was born July 17, 1944 in Ames, Iowa. She attended Clear Lake high school and graduated in 1962. After graduation she attended the Iowa school of beauty, where she pursued her long 48 year career in cosmetology.
She went on to meet and marry her life partner Larry Auxier on May 23, 1965. They resided in Des Moines, Iowa and had three children Kristin, Eric, and Gregg. She was a long time member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for 40+ years. She was a strong woman of faith, instilling that into her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden and was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a contagious smile and laugh that will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband Larry Auxier; daughter Kristin; sons Eric and Gregg; and 6 grandchildren all of Des Moines; brother William Baum (Marjorie) of Clive; sister Marva (Baum) Sheriff (Jeff) of Minneapolis, Minn.
Visitation will be held Friday November 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Grandview Park Funeral home. Memorial services will be held Saturday November 19th at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran church with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery.
