Jean Houston Akers--Of 2625 S. Tenth St., died at 5 a.m. yesterday at the Memorial hospital. He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Thursday in Champaign. He was 46 years old.

Mr. Akers was employed as an advertising representative for the magazine, Illinois Public Official. He had been a partner of the Bureau of Motor Advice in Chicago for seven years.

He was born Oct. 27, 1905, in Warrensburg and had lived in and around Springfield all of his life with the exception of 15 years which he spent in the Chicago and Milwaukee area.

He was the son of Bert Akers and the late Mrs. Etta Akers, of Milwaukee. He married Ernestine Leona Miller, May 16, 1925. He was a member of the Elks club.

He is survived by his wife; twin sons, Jay and Ray; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Andruskevitch, all of this city; his father, Bert, of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Vonna Sims, Mrs. Lois Brabo, Mrs. Virginia Moss, and Mrs. Bea Etta Heinzel, all of Wisconsin; three brothers, Dale and Phillip of Milwaukee and Bert, of Louisiana.

Remains are at the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home where services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Dr. A. Ray Grummon, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
