Mr. Charles Bruce "Sonny" Bailey

Mr. Charles Bruce "Sonny" Bailey, 70, retired Senior Master Sargent, U. S. Air Force, died Thursday Nov. 3rd., at North Ms. Medical Center in Eupora. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Monday Nov. 7th. at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Webster County with full military honors. Rev. Willy Weddle and Rev. Travis Gray officiated.

Pallbearers were Ray and Pete Bailey, Mike and Billy Reed, Arnette Peery, Randy Keen, Marvin Floyd and Jarren Holmes.

Charles was born Feb. 2, 1941 in Tomnolen, Ms. to the late Charles Kennedy Bailey and Georgia Carey Brown Bailey.

He is survived by his wife; Patricia Youngblood Bailey, Eupora, Ms.; three daughters, Timi Bailey, Andover, Mn., Melessa Dunagin, Dallas, Tx. and Melinda Ray, Eupora, Ms.; three sons, Chris Bailey, Houston, Tx., Mike Ray and Chris Ray both of Eupora, Ms.; three sisters, Charlene Dean, Magee, Ms., Sue Keen, Brandon, Ms., and Tillie Bowman, Carthage, Ms.; two brothers, Alvis "Buddy" Bailey, Brandon, Ms. and Tom Brown Bailey, Eupora, Ms.; and twelve grandchildren, Christopher and Benjamin Seubert, Ashlyn Davis, John David Blansett, Casey and Morgan Helms, and Blake, Michaella, Daniel, Bailey, Skylar, and Matthew Ray; and a special great great nephew, Jarren Holmes.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ouida Peery and Malloy "Tootsie" Reed.

Charles entered the United States Air Force in April 1958. He served as a First Sargent from 1982 until he retired in May 1987 as a Senior Master Sargent. During his military career he recieved numerous medals and citations, serving all over the United States and the world. He was stationed in Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Vermont, Oregon, Texas, North Dakota and also served In Hof, Berlin, and Zweibrucken Germany, and in Morocco and Thailand. In 1988 he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Park University with Batchelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Management / Human resources. In 1990 he recieved a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Embry Riddle
University.

Charles Bruce "Sonny" Bailey will be sorely missed as a husband, father, brother and valued citizen of Webster County. Especially, he will be missed as a supporter and true fan of all Webster County Sports. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.
