Pauline I. Hartman, 87, died Nov. 8, 2003, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
She was born Feb. 13, 1916, in White County, Ill., daughter of the late Silas and Florence Carter.
She married Chelsea Hast and he preceded her in death. She married Edward Hartman in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Hartman worked for American Laundry in Mt. Vernon and later was a housemother for the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis. She was a former resident of Piedmont.
She is survived by one son, Henry "Duane" (Barbara) Hast, Iuka, Ill.; half sister, Lou Eva Stewart, Mill Shoals, Ill.; five half brothers, Lowell, Bob, Bill, Jim and Don Carter; two stepdaughters, Doris Funk, Beverly Fisher; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Hartman.
The funeral was held Nov. 11 at Hughey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, Ill., with Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial was in Burnt Prairie Cemetery, Burnt Prairie, Ill.
