Heavysege was the author of many poems including, "Night," "The Dead," "Beyond The Sunset," "The Coming Of Morn," "The Stream," "The Mystery Of Doom," "The Fallen Angels," "Winter Night," "Clouds," "Songs From Count Filippo," "The Stars Are Glittering In THe Frosty Sky," "Jezebel," "The Revolt Of Tartarus: A Poem," and "The Owl." He also wrote novels abd other works like, "Sonnets" (1855), "Saul" (1857), "Jephthah's Daughter" (1865), and "The Dark Huntsman" (1864 and 1876).
