Jennings W. Canfield, 75, of West Lampeter Twp., died Friday, November 18, 2011, at LRMC with his family by his side. Born in Elkins, WV, he was the son of the late Walter Canfield, Ada Phillips Retallick and step-father Stephan Retallick.

Jennings served in the US Army after graduating from the former Lampeter High School class of '55. He was employed at Kerr Glass in maintenance for 36 years. He was a former member of the Lancaster Beagle Club, and he enjoyed fishing in Canada and hunting in West Virginia and Tioga County, PA.

Surviving are three children, Cheryl L. Canfield, companion of Charles Bukowski, Tracey L. Canfield, companion of Steven Resch, Sr., and James W. Canfield, husband of Michelle, all of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren, Steven Resch, Jr., Joey Bukowski, II, Tyler Mull, Joshua Resch, Alexis Canfield and Nickolas Bukowski; great-grandson Avery Bukowski; sister Mary, wife of Earl Creasy and his former wife Thelma Hillas. His siblings Frances Kellenberger and William Canfield, and his wives Ruby and Carol, preceded Jennings in death.

The Funeral will take place 11 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with The Rev. Mark J. Thiboldeaux officiating. A Viewing will be held 10-11 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment in Riverview Burial Park with honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
