She was born Feb. 13, 1929, in Mexico, to Antonio and Paula Aguilar Ortiz.
A resident of Mexico, Mrs. Aguilar was a homemaker and had come to Garden City to visit her children since 1993.
She married Pedro Leyva Chavez in Mexico. He died in April 1988. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include four sons, Jesus Ortiz, Ignacio Leyva and Vicente Leyva, all of Garden City, and Cristoba Leyva of Springfield, Colo.; five daughters, Edijueves Leyva of Garden City, Dora Leyva of Denver, Marta Ramos and Lola Leyva, both of California, and Maria Leyva of Cactus, Texas; a brother, Rafael Ortiz, and a sister, Rosaura Ortiz of Mexico; 31 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass was at the church. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
