Jared Daniel West, 15, of Delmar, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Jared was born April 23, 1996 in Salisbury, to Jerry and Rebecca (Turkington) West.
Jared was a student of Delmar High School in Delmar, DE. He was very athletic and enjoyed swimming, skateboarding, playing football, baseball and basketball. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and reading. Jared was an avid gamer and spent many hours playing video games. He had many, many friends and loved life and he will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Jared is survived by a sister, Jasmine D. West of Delmar, DE, two half brothers, Jerry L. Pietroski Jr. of Salisbury and Joseph S. Pietroski of Fruitland, grandparents; William D. Turkington Sr. and Hazel of Fruitland, several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eva B. West.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, where friends may call from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Interment will be at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date.
