Mrs. Charles W. Ash, 57, a resident of Waterloo for more than a quarter of a century, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of her son, Wesley W. Ash, 216 Butler Avenue, where she had been seriously ill of a heart ailment for the past month. Before her illness became critical, Mrs. Ash resided at 200 Butler Avenue.

Born as Lillian Conner on June 24, 1885, in Shell Rock, Ia., she was the daughter of William T. and Mary J. Conner. She taught school in the vicinity of Shell Rock and on June 21, 1911, was married to Charles W. Ash. The couple came to Waterloo in 1912. Mrs. Ash was a member of Linden Methodist church.

Survivors are the husband and a daughter, Miss Ethel M. Ash, both of 200 Butler Avenue; the son, Wesley W. Ash, 216 Butler; a brother, John W. Conner, 316 West First Street, and two grandchildren, Linda Mae and Charles Wesley Ash.

The body was taken to the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Linden Methodist church by Dr. Frank Court, pastor. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m.
