Daniel W. Anderson, 62, of Coshocton died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at his residence after battling lung cancer for over a year.
He was born Nov. 28, 1944, in Coshocton to William L. Anderson and Oris (Ogle) Davis. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts. He married Vicky (Hahn) Anderson on June 14, 1986. He retired from Dover GE in 2000. He was a regular blood donor. Dan was a life member of the VFW Post 1330, Moose Lodge 935, the American Legion and DAV. He attended the First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Anderson; children, Laura (Mike) Lowe, Kurt (Dawn) Anderson, {NOTE: Laura and Kurt are children from marriage to Lenora Kay Cupps}, Angela Hawthorne, David Hawthorne and Jessica (Bobby) Gray; grandchildren, Ryan and Kayla Lowe, William Anderson, Cody, Tyler and Faith Gray, Noah Hawthorne and Sarah Cyrus; his mother, Oris Davis; mothers-in-law, Margaret Hawthorne and Mary Hahn; brothers, Jimmy (Barb) Anderson and Richard (Mel) Anderson; sisters, Jill Grace and Sherry Anderson; and his brothers-in-law, Ricky (Lori), Rusty and Randy Hahn.
He is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, William and Dorothy Anderson; father-in-law, Richard Hahn; and stepfather, Robert Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastors Scott Benka and Jeffrey Woodroof officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday (today), Aug. 8, 2007, and until service time on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Health Services of Coshocton, P.O. Box 1284, Coshocton, O. 43812 or to the First Assembly of God Church, 803 Vine St., Coshocton, O. 43812.
