Christian Rites

Funeral services for Byron E. Christian, 70 of Gonzales, who passed away 16 8:45 p.m. last night, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Hornung officiating. Burial will be in the W.O.W. cemetery.
A retired postal employee, Mr. Christian was born Oct. 21, 1909 in Gonzales county to Roy L. and Emma Ryan Christian both of Gonzales county. He married the former Olive Elizabeth Moore on June 15, 1928 in Gonzales and they resided at 316 Bright Stt.
He taught Sunday school for many years and was very active in both the First Baptist church and the W.O.W. Lodge, where he served as treasurer.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter Mrs. John (Peggy) Shuler Jr. of Gonzales, three grandchildren; Chris Shuler of Houston and Lori and Cathy Shuler both of Gonzales. Also, two sisters Mrs. Juanita Wallace and Mrs. Margie Talley both of Houston and one brother Vance Christian of Seguin. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock. Tx.
