ALONSO, Roberto 84, of Tampa, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Emilia Gonzalez Harper Alonso. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Boyett (Howard), Jeannette Noble (Edward), Yvette Key, and Elizabeth Finch (Ed); grandchildren, Jennifer (Ruari), Amanda, Nick, Matthew, Michelle, E'owyn, Caitlin, Rhiannon and Wesley; great grandchildren, Kimberley, Mason, Keira and Aidan. A native of Cuba, he came to the United States in 1967 becoming a naturalized citizen in 1977. Roberto was a member of the Rosicrucian order. He excelled at playing chess, was an amateur artist, and enjoyed reciting poetry. He enjoyed life, visiting the public library, taking computer classes, traveling, and watching movies. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at 3 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
