Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006, at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt, Iowa. Chaplain Ruthanne Werner officiated, with burial in Hayes Township Cemetery, rural Arthur, Iowa.
Born July 28, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois, Ruth Caroline Caughlin was the daughter of Reuben and Hazel (Bergman) Anderson. She grew up in Arthur, Iowa, where she graduated from Arthur High School.
On September 27, 1942, Ruth was united in marriage to Paul S. Caughlin in Chicago, Illinois. The couple made their home in Chicago where they owned and operated a grocery store for 15 years. Ruth continued to operate the grocery after Paul's death in 1965, and returned to Arthur in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Colleen and Sanford Zimmerman of Wilmette, IL; a sister, Lorraine Lovain of Arthur; numerous nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents.
