Mary (Perry) Borges, 95, formerly of State Street, died on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Desilets Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Manuel E. Borges. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, Mrs. Borges was the daughter of the late Antoine and Maria (Pacheco) Perry. She was a homemaker and also worked at Collins and Aikman Company and Smith Manufacturing Company. She loved baking, crocheting, cooking and reading. Mrs. Borges leaves three daughters, twins Elsie Patterson of Warren and Mary Roderick of Middletown, and Agnes Mello of Warren; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Virginia Coppola and Manuel Pereira. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, from the George C. Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Elizabeth Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Ferland was the celebrant of the Mass. Maria Pacheco and Natalie Ferreira were readers, while Agnes Mello, Elsie Patterson and Mary Roderick presented gifts. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, where the Rev. Ferland offered the committal prayers. Samuel Patterson Sr., Samuel Patterson Jr., David Patterson and Kenneth Toth were the pallbearers.
