Russian writer, emigre politician and journalist.
Аndrey Zankevich was born into a noble family, at the family estate in the village of Gayvoron near Konotop (Now in Ukraine). He emigrated to Yugoslavia in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution. There he was active in the anti-Soviet community, and was a member of the executive committee of National Alliance of Russian Solidarists (known as the NTS). He moved to the USA after WW2, and was a prolific publisher of articles in the russophone press. He worked for the Tolstoy Foundation Center in NYC.
When Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn escaped the Soviet Union, he spent some time with Andrew at his Richmond Maine residence, going through his huge collection of catalogs concerning Russian history.
His writings were extensively used by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in his tract "Two Hundred Years Together". When Andrew died, all the material that he has collected throughout the years, were 'suppossedly' burned by his personal request to his wife Katerina [nee Allen]. However, this would seem odd, since Solzhenitsyn stated that he personally suggested to take his material into his hands for safe keeping. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn stated that someone was behind the burning of the material.
