Allen, Mary Frances, age 91 of Dayton, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Heartland of Beavercreek where she had been a resident for the past nine years. She was born on December 4, 1919 in Winchester, Ohio to the late McPherson and Altie (Ruble) Purdy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman V. Allen. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and David Prickett of Beavercreek and Linda Jean and Gerald Widener of Springfield; grandchildren, Melissa Prickett (Jon Wells), Ryan Prickett (Angela), Lisa Blair (Adam) and Maria Widener; as well as one great granddaughter. Mrs. Allen was a life-time member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and a long time employee of Mead Paper Co. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful mother-in-law. She had a love for animals and especially enjoyed caring for stray cats. Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heartland of Beavercreek for the loving care they gave to Mary. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. with Rev. David H. Foubert officiating. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment in Mt. Orab Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the Memorial Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
