Adrian attended his first year of school at Sioux Rapids, then the rest of his schooling was at Webb.
He graduated from high school in 1913,
then started farming in Herdland Township.
He served in the marines during World War 1.
Adrian and Vera retired from farming in 1963, although still made their home on the farm.
They enjoyed traveling and since retirement have visited all the states, including Hawaii and Alaska. Also traveled to Mexico and Canada. They spend their winters in Florida
or California.
In 1973 Adrian was awarded a certificate for farming more than 50 years on the same farm.
Although retired, they continue to grow beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, and keep the trees and shrubs on the grounds beautifully manicured. It is worth driving the gravel road to see their country home.
