Lillian Ester Brown

Lillian Ester Moss Brown, longtime Moscow Community resident and widow of David N. Brown died Friday morning, April 22, 2011 at the Blanco Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in San Antonio, TX. She was 90 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Brown were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 30th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Billy Adair, pastor of Moscow, officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Brown was born January 5, 1921 in Moscow. She was preceded in death by her parents Will Lee Moss and Maude Lillian Sides Moss. Mrs. Brown was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a longtime resident of Fayette County before moving to Texas three years ago to reside near her grandson.

Mrs. Brown was Methodist and was employed by the Wonder Product Company in Collierville for 25 years before her retirement. She was known for her cooking abilities and specialty of chocolate pie. Mrs. Brown cherished special times with her family and friends and in earlier years was associated with area hospice organizations.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her grandson and caregiver: Joseph William Garrison, Jr. and his wife Elin of Spring Branch, TX; her great grandchildren: Joseph Anthony “Tony” Garrison, Daniel Adam Garrison, Ronnie Paul Locklear, Shana Lee and four great-great-grandsons: Daniel J. Garrison, Darryl Lee III, Dylon Lee and Shane Lee. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her son: Joseph William Garrison, Sr.; a granddaughter: Sherri Lynn Holmes; four sisters: Maureen Moss Dennis, Lessie Moss Gwinn, Althea Mae Moss Stafford, Lina Belle Moss Mason, Eleanor Moss Smith; two brothers: her twin, Willian Vester Moss and J. T. Moss.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Joe Garrison, Jr., Dan Garrison, Tony Garrison, Byron Moss, Tilmon Moss and Sam Stafford.
