Parents were James A. and Cassandra (Cox) Simmons from TN. Moved to St. Francis County, AR early 1900s, married Jimel French in 1918. They had 5 children; Dorothy, Maxine, Bobbie Jean (6/21/2003-9/13/2003), Nellie Laverne "Tincey", and James Albert (9/26/1937-12/3/1986). He was employed by the State of Arkansas Highway Dept. many years and later farmed.
