Opal Lillian Bourque, 100, passed away peacefully at Robin Johnson House in Dallas on November 6, 2011. Opal was born on November 14, 1911 in Missouri to the late Amelia and Charles Dumermuth.

Opal filled her life with love of family and friends. She was a caring homemaker and working mother who retired from Belk's after 25 years of service.

Her funeral service will be at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City with Rev. Shane Facemyer officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Speedy and Priscilla Williams.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia

She is survived by her sons, Archie Bourque, Jr. and wife Eileen, Richard Bourque and wife Betty, and Ralph Brearley and wife Barbara; daughters Jean Conti, Priscilla Williams and husband Speedy, Barbara Davis and husband Keith, and Mary Jane Eudy and husband Martin; one sister Nadine LaValle of Jefferson City, MO. Opal was blessed with 26 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Archie; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; granddaughter, Susan Bourque; grandson, Ralph Brearley, Jr.

Opal's family would like to thank Dr. Case and the staff at Robin Johnson House, particularly her compassionate caretaker, Petrina, for their kind and loving care. Special thanks to her caring friends Linda Elmore and Nancy Brackett.
