Elizabethon Police K-9 officer, Yoris, who died last year received a special memorial tribute near the place of his burial.
Yoris's former partner, Corporal Shane Darling, was joined by family, friends and fellow officers at today's dedication at the pet cemetery inside the Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City.
The memorial was made possible through a donation from the Tetrick Funeral Home, Hitchcock Memorials and Washington County Memory Gardens who wanted to do something special for the K-9 officer following his funeral last year.
Corporal Darling said the memorial brings closure for his family and the Elizabethton Police Department.
Darling was joined at the dedication by his new K-9 partner, Brett, who recently completed his training in March of this year.
