Springfield, Ills, Dec 30—Louis J Palmer, son of the late General John M Palmer, died Saturday morning of heart failure. Death occurred shortly after 9 o'clock at his home in Springfield. Mr Palmer had been ill but a few days.
A severe cold contracted last week, while attending his sister in law's funeral, turned into pneumonia. Through this his heart was affected, after it was believed he
would soon be well. The heart action was weakened and shortly after 9 o clock Saturday morning he closed his eyes forever. Louis J Palmer was born in Carlinville,
Ill, in June, 1865. When but two years of age he was brought to ths city with his father, who was then governor of Illinois. He has made his home here since that time. He was admitted to the bar before reaching the age of 21, passing a brilliant examination. For about ten years
he engaged in the practice of law in Wyoming, although he still retained Springfield as his home. After his return to
Springfield he engaged in the law practice in this city. He has been married less than one year.
