Ada was the second youngest of eight children. Her father brought the family to Missouri from Kentucky not long after she was born. He bought the Elizabeth Mott farm outside Roanoke, Missouri and settled his young family there around 1875. Ada`s known siblings are;

Angeline "Annie" Higdon (5/10/1862-12/29/1916)

Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Higdon (2/13/1864-2/19/1889

Edward Ward Higdon (10/16/1865-7/21/1953)

Finis Ewing Higdon (3/23/1867-11/06/1938)

Minnie Frances Higdon (11/23/1869-7/7/1943)

Sarah "Sally" Elizabeth Higdon (9/23/1871-11/07/1958)

Linnie Higdon (1/07/1875-

One of Ada`s children was Goldina Allen Fergerson.

Ada`s two sets of grandparents are;
Benjamin and Nancy Higdon and
Ezra and Elizabeth McCoy Ward.
