Mrs. Elmer (Armella) Gerding, 59, died Friday, June 25, 1982, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Belgrade, with the Rev. Silverius Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. Christian Mothers will conduct a prayer service at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home, followed by parish prayers at 8.

Armella Gerding was born July 30, 1922 in Spring Hill to Charles and Mary (Pung) Schoenberg. She was grew up and attended schools in Spring Hill. She married Elmer Gerding Aug. 30, 1943 at St. Michael's Church in Spring Hill, MN. She lived in Spring Hill, Paynesville and Belgrade and was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Francis des Sales Catholic Church and active in other church organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer; daughter, Mary Margaret, Minneapolis; brothers and sisters, Edmund and Henry Schoenberg, Greenwald; Joseph Schoenberg, Paynesville; Arthur Schoenberg, Cold Spring, Mrs. Norbert (Lena) Neubauer, Spring Hill, Mrs. Rudy (Irma) Athman, Rockville, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Muehe, LaMarque TX; Mrs. Frank (Appolone) Troje and Mrs. Pete (Alice) Williams, St. Paul.

Armella was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (Dec 1970) and Charles Schoenberg (Jan 1971), one sister, Dorothy (Schoenberg) Benolken (1968) and one infant daughter, Alice Gerding, on May 1, 1945.
