George W. Belford, Cycle Enthusiast Dies At Age 52

George W. Belford, 52, of 1317 N. Jefferson ave., died at 3:55 p. m. Sunday at his home. He had been ill several months.
Mr. Belford was born in Millbrook township, Peoria county, May 12, 1897, a son of William and Ellen McCune Belford, and married Elizabeth Bergstrom, May 2, 1935. He was a member of the Peoria Motorcycle club and the American Motorcycle association, being active in both groups. He held membership in the Teamsters union, local No. 627.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Ward and Mrs. Phyllis Hoffman; one sister, Mrs. Mary Short and two grandchildren, all of Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at the Cumerfold-Endsley memorial home with Rev. Oscar Raymond Lowry of Grace Presbyterian church officiating. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memorial park. Friends may call at the memorial home this evening.
