BROOKHAVEN — Services for Elbert Ray "Bill" Boyte, of Brookhaven, who died Friday at his residence will be at noon Tuesday at Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until start of service Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Boyte was born to Martin Wilson "Little Martin" Boyte and Susanne "Susie" Elizabeth Williamson Boyte on Oct. 9, 1918.
He graduated from East Lincoln School in 1937, and never missed a single day of school.
In the U.S. Army, Mr. Boyte served as a Tech-4 machinist in 106 Ordinance Co. in World War II.
Mr. Boyte was a machinist at Natchez-Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company for 38 years.
He was a Baptist.
Mr. Boyte is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruby Dale Dunaway of Brookhaven and Elcie Boyte Smith of Vidalia; five brothers, Don Boyte of Natchez, Ruie Boyte of Natchez, Elzy Boyte of Port Gibson, Dee Boyte of Natchez and Pervis Boyte of Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Gena A. Boyte; one son, the Rev. Ronald G. Boyte and wife Darlene of Oshkosh, Wis., one daughter Patricia "Pat" Smith and husband, Bob K. of Brookhaven; one sister, Bertie Cleveland of Hammond, La.; one granddaughter, Tammy C. Fuller and husband, Buddy of Brookhaven; three grandsons, Philip A. Smith and wife, Kesha of Brookhaven, Corey J. Boyte and wife, Danielle of Appleton, Wis,; and Seth Boyte of Oshkosh, Wis; and four great-granddaughters, Danica, Emileigh and Adrianna Fuller, and Miranda Smith.
