A catholic funeral service mass will be celebrated for 56 year old Victor Acosta of Lamesa at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.

Mr. Acosta passed away Thursday, November 3rd at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born of February 19, 1955 in Basuchil, Chihuahua, Mexico. Victor married Bonnie Cantu on January 10, 1975 in Lamesa. He was owner and general manager of Acosta Brothers Machine and Pump Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Acosta-Estrada and Rita Caraveo-Grijalva; and one sister, Maria Ignacia Acosta-Caraveo.

Almost 39 years ago, Mr. Acosta immigrated to the United States with nothing more that the clothes on his back. He realized the American Dream. A simple man with selfless dreams, he worked feverishly helping others and building his family business. Though a kind husband, loving brother, father figure and successful business man, Mr. Acosta's greatest legacy can be found for generations to come in the strength of relationships among family, business partners and friends. A savvy businessman, an engineer, a family doctor and four beautiful grandchildren, this is what Victor envisioned, this is what he worked so hard to accomplish in life.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Acosta of Lamesa; one daughter, Kristy Acosta of Lamesa; two sons, Victor M. Acosta, Jr. and Brian Acosta both of Lamesa; four sisters, Lydia Orozco of La Junta, Chihuahua, Mexico, Armeinda Contreras of Chihuahua, Mexico, Nivia Ventura of Amarillo, Texas and Lorena Alvidrez of Chihuahua, Mexico; two brothers, Andres H.
