EQUALITY, ILL. —

James E. "Comanche" Certain of Equality passed away at his home at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011.

He was born in Equality on Feb. 7, 1945, the son of Richard Sr. and Helen Juanita (Parker) Certain.

Jim was a retired truck driver form R.G. Berry Trucking.

He is survived by one daughter, Julie Williams of Eldorado; two sons, Albert and Karen Certain of Equality and James N. Certain, also of Equality; former wife, Delia Certain of Eldorado; three sisters, Jean Modglin of Equality, Myrna Sales of Murray, Ky. and Cindy and Edward Reynolds of Equality; three brothers, Joe and Nita Certain of Georgia, Richard "Dickie: Certain of Equality and Samuel F. Certain, also of Equality; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two great-grandchildren, Brieanna Essex and Bobby Snyder; special friend, Mary Hadfield; and his beloved cat "Killer."

Visitation for Jim will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, with the Rev. Harold Miller officiating. Burial will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. Internet condolences may be made at the Internet site www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
