This memorial is in honor of Rachel Rabinowitz Tkach. Rachel was like a real-life Rapunzel when she was young, because she had long, lush hair that reached almost to her knees. When she finally got fed up with all the care it required, she cut it off in almost a "boy-cut."
Rachel was much-loved by her family, but she and her husband never experienced the joy of having a child, which was a great disappointment. Unfailingly sweet-tempered and warm, Rachel died of peritonitis at the age of 50, leaving behind a grieving family who never got over her loss.
