Our lovely mother, Maurine Felt Bills, 84, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was welcomed by her many loved ones and her Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early morning of November 4, 2011, at the home of her daughter.

Maurine was born March 1, 1927 in Wapello, Idaho, to John Henry Felt and Mabel Minnie Wood Felt. She attended Wapello Elementary School and graduated from Blackfoot High School. She earned her teaching degree at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.

On July 11, 1947, she married Charles Robert Bills in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. She taught elementary school in Moscow, Pocatello, Ucon, Templeview and Dora Erickson Elementary Schools in Idaho Falls until her retirement. Her husband, Charles, passed away July 9, 2008.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a Relief Society Teacher, as ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and in various other capacities over the years.

Maurine loved music. Her love for music extended to all she came in contact with. She shared her talents freely with her family and church, serving as chorister or choir director, organist, and pianist. She sang like an angel and enjoyed performing in many musical groups, however, singing and harmonizing with her sisters and daughters brought her the greatest joy.

Maurine is survived by four daughters: Anne Griggs, Margo (Randy) Johnson, Mary Malolo and Janet (Mark) Sorensen, all of Idaho Falls; two sons: Preston (Darcy) Bills, of Ucon, and Paul (Jan) Bills, of Idaho Falls; a brother, Jay (Bernice) Felt, of Spokane, WA; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: William Wood, Eldon Felt and Lowell Felt; and two sisters: Beyrle Esplin and Verle Marie Archibald.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the kindness and help provided by Solace Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Ammon LDS 27th Ward, 7118 South Ledgerock Drive, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Jake Dustin officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
