Katheryn Palmer Hohenstein, 73, of Springfield died Monday at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center. She was born March 25, 1921, in Okolona, Miss., the daughter of Andy D. and Ada Lu Borden Palmer. She married Albert E. Hohenstein in 1945. Mrs. Hohenstein had been a resident of Springfield for 49 years. She retired as a nursing instructor from Lincoln Land Community College and Memorial Medical Center School of Nursing. She was a member of West Side Christian Church and many organizations. Survivors: husband, Albert E. Hohenstein Jr. of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Jo Stuva of Springfield; two sons, A. Edward Hohenstien III of Springfield and James Howard Hohenstein of New York City, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Staab Funeral Home, Charles Lee and Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
