Thank You for visiting beloved Anna Mary. Your kindness is so very appreciated by our family. God bless.

Anna Mary Cover Derr was born June 22, 1790 in Maryland, USA, and was the daughter of Yost "Joust" Cover born May 15, 1754 in Pennsylvania, USA, and Mary Kemp Cover. Note: Yost was the son of Johann Daniel Kober born in 1723 in Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, and immigrated to America; death was in 1769 in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, USA. The mother of Yost was Maria Eva Eberhard born in 1730 in Bavaria, Germany; her death was in 1800 in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, USA. Johann Daniel Kober who was known by his middle name was a native of the Palatinate, Rhineland-Pfalz area, and came to the new world in 1748 from Manubach, Rhineland, Germany on the ship named Two Brothers, sailed by Capt Thomas Arnot, which sailed out of Rotterdam, Netherlands. He was signed in on the passenger list as Daniel Kober, and went by his middle name as was often customary. His sons later changed the spelling of their last name to Cover.

Anna Mary Cover married Abraham Solomon Derr born on January 21, 1793 in Upper Salford, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA; his death was February 3, 1855 in Taney Dist.(also known as Taneytown), Carroll County, Maryland, USA. They married on March 1, 1814 in Maryland, USA.

Known Children of Abraham Solomon and Mary Cover Derr:
1) Lydia Sarah Derr, born December 28, 1813 in Frederick County, Maryland, USA; death was August 21, 1885 in Adams, Pennsylvania, USA. Married George Keefer.
2) Elias Derr, born October 31, 1814 in Maryland, USA; died in 1850 in Pennsylvania, USA. Married Ann Copeland.
3) Mary Anna Derr, born November 29, 1815 in Creagerstown, Frederick County, Maryland, USA; Died on October 4, 1878 in Maryland, USA. Married William Bell.
4) Rachel Derr, born October 17, 1817 in Maryland, USA; Death was May 11, 1894 in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, USA. Married Elias Hoover.
5) Ephram Derr, born August 1, 1820 in Taneytown, Frederick County, Maryland, USA; death was August 20, 1820 in Taneytown, Frederick County, Maryland, USA. Twin with Abraham.
6) Abraham Derr, born August 1, 1820 in Maryland USA; death was February 3, 1869 in Creagerstown, Frederick County, Maryland, USA. Twin with Ephram. Married Mary Ann Martin.
7) Elizabeth Derr, born May 12, 1822 in Taneytown, Frederick, Maryland, USA; death was December 15, 1893 in Taneytown, Carrol County, Maryland, USA. Married Jacob Reid (Reed).
8) John C. Derr, born July 6, 1824 in Maryland, USA; death was October 10, 1898 Utica, Frederick County, Maryland, USA. Married Elizabeth Kemp.
9) Matilda Derr, born December 25, 1828 in Maryland, USA; death was October 22, 1894 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, USA. Married Daniel Lieght (Light).
10) Sarah Ann Derr, born October 27, 1830 in Sabilesville, Maryland, USA; death was February 28, 1906 in Frederick County, Maryland, USA. Married Adam Fogle.
11) Emanuel Derr, born March 25, 1833 in Frederick County, Maryland, USA; death CIRCA 1870 in Washington County, Maryland, USA. Married Mary Ellen Sands. Emanuel was last mentioned in the 1870 United States Federal Census in District 1, Washington, Maryland. His son John passed in 1869 at a very young age, and Vernon O. Derr is found listed on the 1880 United States Federal Census in Lewistown, Frederick, Maryland, USA as nephew and living with Emanuel's brother John C Derr and his wife Elizabeth. The other children were most likely on their own, and the last child living with Emanuel and Mary Ellen would have been little Veny. I have not been able to locate a death date and place for Emanuel or Mary Ellen. After this census of 1870 they seem to just vanish. What happened to Emanuel and Mary? I don't think if they moved west they would leave their young son Vernon behind. Emanuel is listed on his Civil War draft as having one twisted or crooked leg, and he worked at the docks, and worked as a miller, so his life wasn't an easy one, but he did persevere. So, I don't think he would be one to leave his last child behind. So, it is a mystery yet to be solved concerning what happened to Emanuel and his wife Mary.

Beloved Anna Mary lived a long and prosperous life. May she rest peacefully and dwell with our Lord Jesus Christ.
