Robert 'Bob' Hawkins was born in Lexington, KY on February 28, 1924 to Robert B. and Rena Mae Moore Hawkins.

A graduate of Harding University (1945); Bob married Betty Maple on August 5, 1945. That year he also began a nearly 60-year Church of Christ gospel ministry. Mr. Hawkins was retired at the time of his death.

Bob passed away October 11, 2003 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Frances Hawkins Carroll; and a son Robbie Hawkins, as well as an aunt, Anna Lee Moore Wurtenberger.

At the time of his death Bob was survived by his wife; a daughter Jill Firestone (Ms. Ronnie), a son, Brad Hawkins (wife Karen); four grandchildren, Kari Heil, Kelli Lara, and Sara and Ryan Hawkins; two brothers John Hawkins of Lexington, KY and Emmett Hawkins of Rancho Cordova, California; and a nephew; Frank Wayne Brannock of Bowling Green, KY.

Services were held in Clovis and Mr. Hawkins was laid to rest in Hunt Cemetery, Kingman, Kansas.
