PINE RIDGE - Alene Faye Janis, 81, Pine Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in Rapid City.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Jamison-Richards and Cherish Lacey Dove Janis, both of Pine Ridge, Melissa Janis, Rapid City, and Saleena Janis-Goings, Sioux Falls; a son, Kevin Merrival Sr., Rapid City, two stepdaughters, Melissa Redtzlaff and Cynthia Janis; a stepson, Gerald W. Janis Jr.; and three sisters, Claudia Langston, Miami, Okla., Martha McNabb, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Nona Mae Tabbytite, Long Beach, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren
Her husband, Gerald Janis Sr., preceded her in death.
One night wake services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Billy Mills Hall.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the hall, with Eric Sutton and Leon Schwartz officiating.
Burial will be at Holy Rosary Mission Cemetery.
