She died January 22, 1918 in Vernon County, Wisconsin, aged 74 years, 11 months and 21 days, and was buried there in the family plot in the Salem Ridge Cemetery. Their eight children, probably all born in Vernon County, Wisconsin, were:

"He enlisted as a corporal in the 25th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry and was enrolled at Eau Claire in the spring of 1862. The regiment served in the campaigns for Vicksburg, Miss.; Atlanta, Ga.; and Sherman's March through Georgia and the Carolinas.
