Arthur Eugene Tannahill was the third boy born to George H. Tannahill and Mary Evelyn Robinson. He was one of twelve children. Their home was a community gathering place. Art played the Slide Trombone in the Farmer Boys Band, This band was organized with neighborhood boys in their teens. Music was important in their home. On June 21, 1911 he married Hannah Grace Skelton in Phillipsburg. To this union were born three boys, Floyd Arthur, Donald Eugene and Leland Lawrence.
