Velma L. Russell, 92, formerly of Oil City, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Sugar Creek Station. Born Feb. 10, 1919, at Ten Mile Bottom (Tippery), she was a daughter of the late John and Ola Holiday Felmlee.

Mrs. Russell attended Cranberry High School. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, gardening and had been a volunteer with the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Cancer Society.

She was married Oct. 15, 1934, to Clarence J. Russell, who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1999.

Surviving are three children, Carol Pedley and husband, William, of Seneca, Wayne Russell of Franklin and Jack Russell and wife, Kris, of Plumer. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, Pamela (Kevin) Lantz, Shelly (Larry) Forrest, Denise Russell, Lisa (Jeffrey) Tawney, Dennis Hadden, Derris Hadden, Holly (Scott) Nespor, Sharon Russell, Jill (John) Pastorius, Lori (Larry) Kay, Stephen Pedley, Eric Pedley, Gregory (Mary) Pedley, Kimberly (Jason) Mast, Jack Russell, Bryan Russell, Philip Russell, Benjamin Russell and Wendi (Jay) Hauck; 34 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Hadden; a daughter-in-law, Janis Russell; a great granddaughter, Cassandra Wakefield; seven brothers, Norman Felmlee, Larue Felmlee, Arthur Felmlee, Clyde Felmlee, Chester Felmlee, Ray Felmlee and John Felmlee; and three sisters, Hazel Perry, Frances Blauser and Flossie Baum.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
