Kaitlin Brekhus was known as "Kacie," she died at the age of 19 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. She was the daughter of Candi (Fredrick) Brekhus and Mel Brekhus. When Kacie was 5, she moved with her family from Iowa to Texas. She attended Las Colinas Elementry School from kindergarden through 7th grade. She then attended Barbara Bush Middle School, she graduated with honors from R.L. Turner High School in June of 2003. She had played volleyball, basketball and was a member of the Student Council. She played a clarinet in the school band and was a cheerleader. She also was President of the Crime Stoppers Orginazation. She is survived by her parents, Candi and Mel, and her brother, Thomas Brekhus.
