Robert (Peg) Bennett 61 of 903 West Williams died at the St. Joseph Hospital at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday.

He was the son of George R. and Mary Bloodsworth Bennett and was born at Ladsdale June 27, 1896. He had lived in Ottumwa for the past 52 years and was an employee at J.W. Edgerly Co. He was married to Helen Myers Sellwood in June 1943 at Missouri.

Besides his wife; he is survived by a son Roy Robert Bennett at home; a daughter Alice Mae Bennett at home two stepsons; Maley Sellwood at home, and James Sellwood of Ottumwa; three step daughters, Mrs. Ollie Lanigan of Davenport, Mrs. Maxine Songer, and Mabel Songer both of Ottumwa; nine step-grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Julia Dunn, and Nancy Millhouse; both of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. W.B. Friend pastor of the First Pentecostal Church Assembly of God Church, will be in charge. Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Peterson, Dale King, Dale Steele, Morris Wintermoat, Ralph Haney and Lester Tull.
