In 1927, John was sent to prison for 2nd degree arson in Spokane. In 1930, Clara and the boys were living in Spokane, WA; by 1940 they had moved across the state line and were living in Priest River, Idaho.
Clara had been arrested in the 1930s for a liquor violation during Prohibition. She died on 27 Jan 1950 and was buried next to John in Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane.
