F.P. 'Doc' Gehring, Architect-contractor-builder, 85, died Sunday, January 19, 1992 at Cray Manor, Atchison, KS.
Services will be held Tues. Jan. 21, 1992 at 1:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will recieve friends for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1906 in Bartlesville, OK Indian Territory. Studied architecture at Kansas State University and the University of Illinois, practicing in Chicago and New York.
He started F.P. Gehring, INC. General Contractor in Atchison in 1938. He married Sue Wadsworth Bruney of Russell, KS on January 24, 1931. She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 1990.
He is survived by two sons, John (Virginia) Gehring and Ferol Gehring, II, both of Atchison, three nieces and nephews, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
