"Please note that this person is not listed by Mayflower in Mayflower Families Vol. 13 p. 33 as a wife of David Allen (d. Hanover NJ after 1752).
He is listed with 2 wives on page 33:
1. Sarah Hayward
2. Hannah ---------"

believes that the info listed on this page regarding two of David's wives (Deliverance and Mary) is incorrect. Sarah Grosvenor is in fact Sarah Hayward Grosvenor, so that one is right.... Also, it appears that Davids death date is really 1752.

You have David's death date as Feb 1725 and his death place as Monmouth, NJ. You also have a possible spouse named Deliverance Baldwin. I would like to know how you came to these conclusions. There was a David Allen who married a Mary Powell in Monmouth, NJ in 1710, and he died in Feb 1724 or1725 according to his will. Is it possible you have the two David's mixed up?

and to Kevin Avery (#47024642) who writes about his wife Sarah:

She was Sarah (Hayward) Grosvenor, born at Concord,MA on Jun 16,1689, a daughter of John Hayward and Anna (White) Hayward. She was a widow of John Grosvenor Jr, whom she married on Jan 27,1708/9 at Concord,MA. John was bapt at Roxbury,MA on Jun 6,1675, a son of John Grosvenor and Hester (Clarke) Grosvenor. John Grosvenor Jr died at Brookfield,MA on Jul 20,1710. John and Sarah had no children. All of Sarah's children were by David Allen.

My sources are old, but include History of Northfield,Mass.

The info below discussing the children of David Allen was not written by me, but by Alton Rogers, a wikitree member and accomplished and careful genealogist. Find A Grave Memorial# 58204619, currently includes links to parents, which are incorrect. She is not the daughter of David Allen listed there and he was never married to a Deliverance Allen. She was born too early to have been a daughter of his first wife, Sarah - and is not listed as one of David and Sarah's children in any sources.

From Wikitree member Alton Rogers: I am in the process of comparing Wikitree data against that of my copy of the Mayflower Families 'silver book' (Vol. 17) for William White descendants, and have already reviewed this family, but cant remember whether I sent notes to profile managers of Wikitree profiles that don't square with silver book data, of which this family has some.

Since Sarah Hayward was a descendant of William White, she is the person that the silver book, Vol. 17 pages 32-35, keys on.

Mayflower lists Sarah as having 2 husbands: 1. John Grosvenor m. 1709 2. David Allen m. 1711

And besides Sarah, Mayflower only lists one other wife for David: Hannah ----- (who was named in a 1748 deed).

And the 4 children listed as those of David and Sarah - David b. 1713 Adoniram b. 1715 John b. 1717 Hannah b. ca. 1726

And I know that you have the other two wives of David, 'Deliverance' and 'Mary' listed with Ancestry sources, but knowing Ancestry as I do (see my profile for the link to my 50,000 entry Ancestry file) I would bet this is bogus information, and the 2 Mayflower-listed wives of David are all that he had.

And yes, sometimes Mayflower makes errors or misses data, but this is a very rare thing.
