Ralph Grant Coester Jr., 64 of Polk Center passed away at 1:28 P.M. Sunday October 23, 2011 with a friend by his side at UPMC Northwest after a brief illness.
Born August 22, 1947 in Pittsburgh he was the son of Ralph Grant and Vera Kathleen Donaldson Coester.
He came to live in the Polk Area on April 23, 1957.
Ralph enjoyed his collection of coats and jackets and chose to wear a different one each day. He loved homemade potato salad, Campbell's vegetable beef soup and a good cup of coffee. Ralph also loved going to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play and he enjoyed picnics and camping in the summer months. His greatest pleasure came from finding and giving gifts to those closest to him and getting hugs and giving hugs to those he loved. Ralph will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Ralph is survived by his mother Kathy and his sister Deborah Coester both of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Grant Coester Sr.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 27, 2011 at 2:45 P.M. in the Meadowside Building at Polk Center.
