Dallas Clair Anderson, 93, passed away from this life on June 16, 2014. Dallas was residing at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Rocky Ford at the time of his death. He lived for many years with his wife Laura A. Anderson La Junta.

Dallas was born in Arlington, Colorado on July 17, 1920 where he was raised on the family ranch by his parents Clair O. & Myrtle(Lynch) Anderson wit his six siblings. His living siblings are William(Shirley) Anderson of Miles City, Montana; Beth(Norris) Rush of Cheraw, Colorado; Mary Ruthardt of Seminole, Texas and deceased siblings Waunita Anderson and Peggy Anderson. Dallas attended school in Arlington and worked on the family ranch. Dallas married Esther Richmond in 1939 tey had a son Dallas Lloyd and a daughter Carolyn Louise prior to Dallas joining the Army during World War II. Dallas then went to the Phillippines to serve his term of duty. Upon his return to Colorado he continued to ranch and he had two more children Charlene Lorraine and John Clair. Later in life Dallas was married to his current wife of 47 years Laura Anna Brown. Dallas had 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchild.

During his lifetime Dallas enjoyed going to dances at the Grange good music and good times, including travel, his church and joking around. He was very proud of being a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and his family.

Dallas is survived by his wife Laura A. Anderson, his children Dallas Lloyd Anderson(Linda Anderson), Carolyn Myers, Charlene Wickham(Jon Wickham), John Anderson, grandchildren Karin, Kevin, Kelly, David, Danielle Hope, Israel, David, Angel, Rachel, Andrew, Derek and Ellen. Surviving siblings include William Anderson, Beth Rush, and Mary Ruthardt. Preceding him in death were his sisters Waunita and Peggy. His grandson Ian Anderson was taken in the Iraq war 2007.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Maynard Bowen of the Prairie Bible Chapel officiating. Interment will follow at the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Colorado.
